Our Highness, The Frog Prince

We'd love for you to meet our Frog Prince and follow him (and us) during our various activities leading up to the party. We've given him lots of tasks to do, so keep an eye out for updates!

Do you think the Queen of England would be jealous of his bling? :)

Just a few facts about our amphibious prince....

  • Believes that looks are always important. He is never without his crown!
  • Even though he is green, he hates green veggies, peas in particular.
  • Much prefers when women wear chapstick, lipgloss is too sticky!
  • Dislikes fairies because one turned him into a frog. Tricky, tricky creatures.
  • Has a best friend named Heinrich (according to the Brothers Grimm)
  • Loves a little reading before bed in the candlelight

Tablescaping with Rose's Flower Shop

Last week, we made a little visit to Rose's Flower Shop because they are making three different tablescapes for the party and we couldn't be more excited for our little collaboration! Here are a few images of the mock up.

The ladies of Rose's Flower Shop hard at work!

This particular tablescape was inspired by the Evil Queen but be on the lookout for the finished product at the party!

A Brief Villa Terrace History

The location of our party on June 9th, as most of you know, is Villa Terrace and we obviously adore it! We feel that Villa Terrace is the perfect castle-like location for our very own Frosted Fairie Tale.

It all started after the Smith family went on their honeymoon to Italy and were very inspired by the mediterranean architecture. In 1923, the couple's inspiration came to fruition in the form of Villa Terrace with the help of architect David Adler and remained in the Smith family until 1966 when it was donated to the city. Nowadays the villa serves as a museum and event space (which we are so excited to enjoy!). See you there June 9th!

Villa Terrace - A Before View

Last Friday we took a (snowy!) turn about Villa Terrace in preparation and we are just counting down the days to our event. It was sort of serendipitous to be snowing during our visit because we plan to frost the place down in June for our Fairie Tale. Here are a few 'before' shots so you get an idea of how it looks before we go all fairie godmother on the place!

Love this cheery, original wallpaper in one of the bedrooms.

Amazing floral details on the lighting

A very wet looking balcony.

Little angels and a view of the gorgeous flooding near the street. Spring, come already!!

What is a Kathy's Garden Party Exactly?

Kathy's Garden Party started in 1999 and the funds that were raised were given to Froedtert Hospital and Gildas Club at that time. It wasn't until 2003 that The Grace Foundation was formed, so that we could use the funds from Kathy's Garden Party to help people directly. Kathy's Garden Parties are our fundraisers for The Grace Foundation.

Since we like to be creative here at The Grace Foundation, we give every Kathy's Garden Party a different name and theme. The last Kathy's Garden Party theme was "All Dolled Up" featuring all things Barbie and the one before that was "Way Beyond the Sea" featuring all things sea related, and so on. This year, our theme for Kathy's Garden Party is "The Frosted Fairie Tale" featuring crowns.

We hope that cleared up any confusion about who we are and what we do at The Grace Foundation and we can't wait to raise funds with you for a really great cause in June! :)

Can you tell it's a crown? This little guy's ready for the party!
